LAHORE: Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal has left for the US without sharing much details about the reasons for his visit.
The right-handed batter stated in a statement that he was departing for the United States to attend “personal meetings.”
“If everything goes well, it’s conceivable I’ll stay in the United States for a while,” he said. “Like they always have, I need my fans to pray for me.”
According to sources, Akmal made a hasty decision to leave for the United States, claiming that he was interested in playing cricket there.
“Umar Akmal didn’t envision a bright future for himself in international cricket in Pakistan,” according to reports.
“Under the present PCB management, his chances of playing for the national team were quite slim,” they continued.
Many Pakistani cricketers, including batsman Sami Aslam, play in the United States.
