ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday praised the Ministry of Maritime Affairs’ efforts, calling the inclusion of the Karachi Comprehensive Coastal Development Zone (KCCDZ) in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a “game-changer” for the city.
- Mega development project for Karachi included in the CPEC.
- PM Imran Khan says the KCCDZ will clean up our marine habitat for fishermen.
- The environment-friendly mega KCCDZ envisages 4 new berths for KPT.
After the $3.5 billion project was authorized by the CPEC’s Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) earlier this month, the PM made a statement.
He hoped it would aid in the cleanup of the marine environment for fisherman, the development of low-income housing units, and the creation of investment possibilities.
“Karachi Comprehensive Coastal Development Zone’s inclusion in the CPEC is a game-changer. The prime minister tweeted, “Will clean up our maritime ecosystem for fisherman, build 20k low-income housing units, and provide possibilities for investors.”
The project would bring Karachi up to level with established port towns, according to the premier, who praised the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for taking the initiative.
