Pakistan Needs Hardik Pandya – Shahid Afridi
Former Captain and Legendary Cricketer Shahid Afridi has stated that Pakistan team needs a consistent finisher, such as Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who bowls key overs before stepping in and winning games with the bat.
The 42-year-old went on to explain that if the Men in Green want to win the 2019 T20 World Cup in Australia, they must work hard on their bowling and batting units while also minimizing the mistakes they have made in the past.
Pakistan’s batting lineup has been extensively criticized following a poor performance in the just finished Asia Cup 2022, with most former cricketers and commentators pointing to the middle order as the source of the problem.
During a TV interview, the former all-rounder was asked, “Do you believe there is any player in the Pakistan squad who is taking responsibility for ending the game with the bat?”
According to Afridi, at least two of these four players must be consistent.
He also emphasized the significance of Shadab, adding, “The era in which Shadab bowls is highly important.” Pakistan will win the day he plays well with the ball.”
When asked about the middle-order batsmen’ performance, Shahid Afridi stated that Asif Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, and Shadab Khan are not as consistent with the bat as India’s Hardik Pandya.
