India’s first privately-built space rocket has been successfully launched.

A space rocket named Vikram S was launched from the island of Sriharikota in the state of Andhra Pradesh under the name of Mission Prarambh.

The launch is being hailed as a milestone for India to build a commercial space industry.

The 545 kg rocket was developed by the Indian company SkyRoot, which went up to a height of 89.5 km in the atmosphere.

But for the first launch, the company had set a target of 80 km, which it called the space frontier.

5 minutes after launch, the rocket fell into the Bay of Bengal.

The company is now planning to send satellites into space next year.
