Pakistani snooker Babar Masih won the IBSF 6-Red World Cup for silver after having been defeated in the Doha final of the event by the Indian cue player Pankaj Advani at 7-5.
After beating the German cueist in the semifinals, Babar reached the finals. Masih, who was pressured at the beginning of the last game, managed to battle back, nevertheless, his Indian adversary won the game at the end.
Pankaj began the final match with a first frame victory of 42-12 but Babar quickly levelled the scores in the second round with the second frame of 38-14. Pankaj Advani increased his lead once further, when in frame 3 and frame 4 he made a critical mistake.
Babar then took 53 in fifth set and reduced the lead by 2-3, without allowing the pressures reach his head. Then, though, Pankaj won three straight frames and was leading by 6-2.
Later, Masih got back in the game and won three rounds in a row to bring the scores to 5-6.
But Advani succeeded in winning the 12th frame and won the championship title.
