On the invitation of Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sophie Wilmes, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will go to Brussels today for a three-day visit. The foreign minister will co-chair the 6th round of Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue with EU High Representative and Vice President Josep Borrell during his visit to Belgium’s capital city, according to Radio Pakistan.
This would be the first time the Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan has been discussed in person since it was signed in June 2019.
Qureshi will meet with Jens Stoltenberg, the NATO Secretary-General. In the past, the two sides have worked together on cooperative training and capacity-building programmes for military and civilian personnel in Afghanistan.
FM Qureshi will exchange views with Belgian parliamentarians and Members of the European Parliament. He will also meet and address members of the Pakistani diaspora residing in Belgium and Luxembourg.
