Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been named a “International Sports Personality”

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and a former cricket captain, has been awarded the International Sports Personality Award, also known as the Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, for his services to the country, which include leading the Pakistan team to victory in the 1992 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The MBR Creative Sports Award, now in its eleventh edition, was held on Tuesday at Deep Dive Dubai in the presence of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees.

As Prime Minister, he continues to inspire young people by elevating the status of sports in general, and cricket in particular, as well as empowering Pakistani society via sports. Nearly 42,000 players are officially registered with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and half of the country’s 221 million people identify as cricket fans.
