ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said the government would provide training of international standard to the staff of panahgahs — the government run shelter homes.
In Islamabad, PM Imran Khan stated this to Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar. He instructed the relevant authorities to give the essential amenities to those residing in panahgahs.

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) administration, he added, was leading by example by building model panahgahs. The prime minister stated that donors and Pakistanis living abroad will help the government in constructing model shelter houses.
PM Imran was briefed by the special assistant on the status of the model shelter houses. She stated that the Panahgahs’ Central Advisory Board has been created, and a four-member administration board would be formed soon for the occasion.
She told the meeting that a computerised monitoring system will be installed in every Panahgah within a week, and that panahgah construction would take a year.

PM Imran Khan paid a visit to Panahgah in Peshawar Mor, Islamabad, on October 15, 2020. He had instructed authorities to give the finest and most quality services to deserving individuals residing in shelter houses across Pakistan on this occasion. He also spoke with folks at the Panahgah and enquired about the facilities available to them at the shelter houses.
The PM had also visited kitchen of the shelter home to inspect quality of services and ate the food, being provided to the people.
