Flour Price Reaches Record High In Karachi At PKR 2140 Of 20 Kilo Bag

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the cost of flour in the nation has risen to an all-time high when a 20 kg bag of flour hit a price of PKR 2,140 in Karachi.

The price of flour in Karachi is the highest in the nation because residents are compelled to pay PKR 1,160 more for it than in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.

The price of flour increased by PKR 180 on a 20-kg bag in Karachi and by PKR 140 in Hyderabad during the last week.

In Quetta, Khuzdar, Sukkur, and Larkana, the cost of a 20-kg bag of flour increased by PKR 120, PKR 100, PKR 40, and PKR 20 respectively.

According to the PBS statistics, a 20-kg bag costs PKR 2,080 in Hyderabad, PKR 1,950 in Khuzdar, PKR 1,920 in Quetta and Larkana, PKR 1,800 in Sukkur, and PKR 980 in Peshawar, Bannu, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi.

It is important to note that the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported that the country’s annual inflation rate hit a historic high of 46.10% after increasing by 1.31% on a weekly basis.

The country’s weekly inflation rate for the previous week was 1.31%, per PBS statistics. According to PBS statistics, the cost of 31 necessities went up in price last week while the cost of three other necessities went down.

According to the report, the country’s terrible floods caused a sharp surge in onion prices, which rose by PKR 51.52 over the previous week.

Tomato prices increased by PKR 20.87, it was stated.

According to the PBS Weekly Inflation Report, the price of moong pulse increased by PKR 17.21, while the price of chickpea pulse increased by PKR 6.76. In addition, the cost of potatoes climbed by PKR 4.55, the cost of eggs by PKR 8.39 a dozen, and the cost of chicken increased by PKR 8.91.

In the previous week, the cost of a 20 kg bag of four jumped by PKR 18.33 and the cost of an LPG cylinder increased by PKR 118.63. In the previous week, the cost of garlic, milk, yoghurt, and sugar also increased.

However, the price for a 2.5kg box of cooking oil dropped by PKR 5.81 and Masoor pulse by PKR 0.10.

While the price of 17 essential items remained unstable.
