He later participated in every match of their African tour, including seven One Day Internationals against the Netherlands, Canada, and Kenya.

The Intercontinental Cup match against the Netherlands, in which Hemp scored an unbeaten 247, his highest first-class innings, was without a doubt the tour’s high point.

This score was the highest in competition history at the time, but it only remained unbroken until the Netherlands’ subsequent match, when Ryan ten Doeschate scored 259 not out.

His most recent ODI record was set while playing for Bermuda against Kenya in the 2011 World Cup qualifiers, when he hit 102 not out. The first fifty ever scored by a Bermudan player in a World Cup was his previous best, 76 not out against India in 2007.

It is still the highest World Cup score by a Bermuda player, and he continues to be the nation’s leading tournament run-scorer because Bermuda hasn’t participated in the tournament since.
